Jeffrey R. Jay, M.D. - HSI Board of Directors

Dr. Jay has more than nineteen years of investing experience. Prior to co-founding GPP, Dr. Jay was a General Partner and head of healthcare for eleven years at J.H.Whitney & Co., an investment firm managing over $5 billion of venture capital and hedge funds.

Previously, he was a Principal and head of healthcare at Canaan Partners and an Associate at Salomon Brothers, Inc. He has led private equity investments and sat on the boards of numerous companies including: Advance PCS (ADVP), Concentra Managed Care (CCMC), Eon Labs (ELAB), NMT Medical, Inc., Symbion, and US BioServices. He has also completed structured financings for Centocor, Discovery Laboratories, and Mariner Healthcare. Dr. Jay received his B.A. magna cum laude and his M.D. with honors from the six-year B.A./ M.D. program at Boston University of Medicine and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. Dr. Jay is also on the Board of the Boston University School of Medicine.

Christopher M. Laitala – HSI Board of Directors

Mr. Laitala has more then eight years of private equity experience. Prior to joining GPP, Mr. Laitala was a Principle at H.I.G Capital, LLC, an investment firm with over $2 billion of private equity capital and hedge funds under management. While at H.I.G., Mr. Laitala focused on leading leveraged buy outs and recapitalizations of small and medium sized companies.

Previously, he was a member of the healthcare private equity group at J.H. Whitney and Co., and also worked in the investment banking division of Alex. Brown & Sons. Mr. Laitala received a B.A. with honors from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
