- Russell W. Sherlock, Chief Executive Officer
Russ Sherlock has over 25 years experience in the healthcare industry. His health industry experience is varied and includes background in Insurance Company, PPO, HMO and TPA operations, Technology and Business Process Outsourcing, integrated delivery systems, medical billing and receivables, as well as agency operations. Mr. Sherlock has experience as a CEO and senior manager with some of nations largest public and private healthcare and technology enterprises including Affiliated Computer Services, Inc (NYSE: ACS), Outsourced Administrative Systems, Inc. (OASYS), Anthem/Wellpoint (NYSE: WLP), Acordia, Inc (NYSE: ACO) and Golden Rule Insurance (now NYSE: UHG). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from St. John's University and currently serves on numerous industry boards as well as the HSI board of directors.
- A. John Ansay, CIC, CPA, Executive Vice President
John Ansay has 28 years experience as a private business owner in the healthcare, insurance and real estate industries. Mr. Ansay has served as a Principal / Owner for A.N. Ansay & Associates, Inc., a property and casualty insurance agency and real estate development company; The Retirement Advantage, a 401(k) Administration Company and Pinnacle Fitness, a health and wellness company. Mr. Ansay has a strong background in all elements of healthcare financing operations and is currently responsible for managing HSI's repricing division and as well as the corporations overall sales and distribution activities. Mr. Ansay is a graduate of the Marquette University's School of Business Administration. He holds his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations. Mr. Ansay currently serves on the HSI board of directors and supports many local non-for-profit and charitable organizations.
- Anthony J. Browne, CPA, EVP, Chief Operating Officer
Anthony Brown has over 15 years of financial and operational management experience previously with an international accounting and consulting firm and most recently in his career prior to HSI, with Wabash National, a publicly-held transportation manufacturing company. Mr. Browne has a strong background in mergers and acquisitions and the private equity industry, including experience with Murphree Venture Partners, an early stage venture capital firm; Bank of America Financial Sponsors Group (advisors to the private equity community); and The Venture Capital Fellows. Mr. Browne is currently responsible for leading all aspects of HSI's daily operational and financial activities. He is a CPA, a graduate from the University of Illinois and has an MBA from the University of Texas.
- Joseph M. Antonell, FHFMA, President, Bill Review Services
Joe Antonell has an extensive background in healthcare administration and finance and more recently in the health insurance field, specializing in medical cost management. While CFO of John Alden Life Insurance Company-Alden Risk Management Services Division (ARMS), he developed and managed the out-of-network negotiations program. Healthcare positions held by Mr. Antonell include: Assistant Controller of Jackson Memorial Hospital, Chief Financial Officer and Associate Administrator of the University of Miami Hospital & Clinics, and System Director of Finance of the South Miami and Homestead Hospital system. Further, Mr. Antonell is a certified and advanced member of the national Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) where he holds the designation of Fellow, or FHFMA. Mr Antonell’s current position is President of HSI’s bill review division. He was previously the owner and President of Asert Benefit Services, a national medical cost management firm purchased by HSI in January 2008.
- Kathleen A. Bass, President, Care Management Services
Kathleen Bass, the founder and CEO of Bass and Babb Companies, which provided leading cost containment solutions for in the liability, disability and workers’ compensation market, became the President of HSI’s Care Management Services Division as part of the integration of Bass and Babb Companies with HSI in early 2008. Ms. Bass has over 20 years of indentifying and implementing cost containment programs for the healthcare and insurance industries. Her expertise and experience provides creative solutions to loss prevention, injury care, specialist networks, integrated care management, and disability services. She remains active in new and upcoming technology and solutions for the ever changing health care environment through affiliations with the Professional Workers’ Compensation Claims Association, the National Workers Compensation and Disability Expo, the Risk and Management Society, as well as the Self Insurance Association.
- Michael S. Hoover, President, Specialty Services
Michael Hoover has 19 years of experience in the healthcare industry. His varied experience includes provider and payer perspectives. He began his career as a Registered Physical Therapist in acute care, home health, out patient, and private practice settings. Mr. Hoover also founded and worked as President of Intellicare, Inc., a workers’ compensation medical cost containment subsidiary of Houston Casualty Corporation (NYSE:HCC). He has direct experience creating and running an in-house managed care program for a regional workers compensation TPA. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama with a BS in Physical Therapy. Mr. Hoover was the founder of Bridgeway Medical, LLC, a leading provider of Medical Bill Repricing, Specialty Bill Audit, PPO Network access, Utilization Management, Pharmacy Management, and Medicare Set-Aside Solutions which was purchased by HSI in August of 2008.
